Healthy Lincoln County Seeks Food Systems VISTA to Support Countywide Food Access
Healthy Lincoln County is seeking an Ending Hunger Corps Food Systems VISTA to join our team in Damariscotta, Maine, supporting countywide efforts to strengthen food security and build a more resilient local food system.
Healthy Lincoln County is a community driven public health organization working to ensure that everyone in Lincoln County has access to nutritious food, supportive connections, and dignified care. Their work includes food security initiatives, gleaning partnerships, coordination of the state’s largest Summer Meals Program, and collaborative efforts to strengthen the regional food system.
In this role, the VISTA will help build the long-term infrastructure needed to expand food recovery, strengthen volunteer engagement systems, and support assessment of the Darrows Barn Food Hub, a shared community space designed to increase food access capacity across the county.
This work is especially critical in rural coastal Maine, where food insecurity is shaped by transportation barriers, seasonal population shifts, limited distribution points, and rising food costs. Strong coordination systems, volunteer infrastructure, and collaborative partnerships are essential to meeting these challenges sustainably.
Join Ending Hunger Corps and the Team at Healthy Lincoln County to make a difference.
